Synopsis:
A story of four generations of Korean immigrants. The story begins with forbidden love and moves into a saga of war and peace, love and separation, triumphs and retributions.
Kim Sun-Ja (Yoo Yeojung) was born and raised in Busan during the Japanese occupation. She met Koh Han-Su (Lee Minho) and fell in love with him. When she found out that he was married, she was already pregnant. Bae Isak, a local priest, saves her by marrying her. They move to Japan where they experience the contempt and discrimination and struggle to survive.
Based on the novel by Lee Ming-jin.
